It Was A Tough Start To The Year (But We Got This!)
Spring 2020 was a very challenging time. We all are living through unprecedented times. Slowly as life becomes a “new normal” we bloom into Summer. Even though there is still so much going on we can relax for a minute and enjoy the small things through out the day that make us smile. Being in quarantine most of Spring I was not able to go on my weekly (or sometimes more) Sephora and Ulta visits. Trying to keep my online shopping to a minimum as well because well, I can get carried away. Now I did purchase several items don’t get me wrong. I didn’t completely not shop but I did a lot of “shop my stash” these last few months. I mean let’s face it, my office/studio probably has as much makeup and beauty products as these stores do anyway. I forget what I even have so it’s a surprise to me. So, without further ado, here are my 10 favorite beauty products form Spring 2020! ((Drumroll))
10. Laneige Lip Mask (Original)
This lip mask not only smells yummy but my lips were so soft and plumped in the morning! I suffer from very dry lips. I always have and living in an area that is extremely cold all winter my lips are chapped a lot. This mask healed my lips right away. It’s not sticky or super oily. Its a really great consistency. I have the original and it is a sweet berry scent that smells sooo good! They do offer grapefruit and apple- lime now as well. This is definitely one of my holy grail lip products. Get you’s here!
9. Laura Geller Baked Blush-N-Brighten (Tropic Hues)
I know this is an oldie too. But this blush just has the right amount of pigment and with a little shine. It gives you that inner glow! I love the shade Tropic hues. It’s a peachy shade that is great for my medium skin tone. Sometimes, especially for daytime, I don’t even need a highlighter. I think it just creates the perfect flush and inner glow! According to the website it contains “stunning swirls of liquid pigments that are baked for 24 hours on terracotta tiles, Blush-n-Brighten is hand-finished in Italy into a silky dome of powder. Infused with antioxidants Centella Asiatica and White Tea Extracts, these Baked blushes deliver flattering color with a hint of happiful radiance!” I’m definitely sold! Get your’s here!
8. M.A.C. Hyper Real Glow (Get It Glowin’)
This highlighter is definitely a fave of all time for me. I hadn’t heard a ton about before I purchased it. I’m always on the look out for great highlighter palettes especially being a makeup artist and working with different skin tones. This is just lovely on anyone! Its’s a creamy powder that is easily blendable. Again, this one gives that glow from within that I love! It does come in other shades for all different skin tones. This one is a keeper. 7. The Ordinary Skincare (Varied Products)
I was late to the Ordinary game. Actually, to be honest it was because it all intimidated me. HA’s, peptides, ceramides, acid….my head was spinning and I didn’t know where to start. They offer so many products and at an extremely affordable price. After reading so many great reviews and articles with different skincare regiments I figured I would dive in and try some out! I fell in love instantly! It usually takes a little while before you really know if a skincare product works but I saw results quickly. I’m not going to go into a long description about each product here. I am planning an upcoming blog post on a full review of all the products I have tried. So far the products I have and am using is “Buffet”, Caffeine Solution 5%,+EGCG, Lactic Acid 10% + HA, Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Oil. Of all those that I listed I will continue to use them and try more because I love them and for a great price! Get your’s here !
6. Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer (Bronzer)
I’m pretty sure by now everyone know about this product. It’s an oldie and a goodie. A cult classic if you will. And for very good reason. It’s one of the best bronzers I have ever used. There is a reason after all this time that it is still on the top of the bronzer chain with so many people. It’s creamy, it blends perfectly and it has such a natural look. Plus it’s infused with a powerful blend of Murumuru Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Tucuma Butter, from the lush and nutrient-rich Amazon. It also is Hypoallergenic, paraben free, gluten free, cruelty free and oil-free. I mean, what else can I say about it? It does it all. Get your’s here!
5. Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Milk
I had to throw in a body moisturizer in here. This one is my holy grail lotion. I started using it about a year ago or more. I had very dry skin and bumps on the back of my arms and thighs. After using this for about a month my skin was smoothed out and hydrated. I just recently was out of it for 3 months and was using a different lotion. Well, I could tell the difference right away when I didn’t use it. I won’t let that happen again! It is loaded with skin-softening cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil and their WaterLock moisture-trapping matrix. It also conditions thanks to its delicious oat, yogurt and honey formula. Has an almond, oat and brown sugar scent that smells so good! I know some do not like fragrance in their skincare but I personally love this lotion. Never running out again. Get your’s here!
4. Garnier Glow Boost Illuminating Moisturizer
I received this moisturizer in one of many subscription boxes a while back. I am a sucker for illuminating face creams. This gives just a hint of glow. No glittery, shimmery lotion. Just a hint of glow. It also is a good moisturizer and seems to last all day. Like I had mentioned I suffer from dry skin so I do use an array of serums and oil prior to my moisturizer. I have had days when I’m in a rush and just used this and my face was hydrated. Formulated with 96% naturally derived ingredients and contains apricot extract. Skin will feel healthier and energized and perfect base for makeup. Get your’s here!
3. e.l.f. Bitesize Eyeshadow Palettes (Cream and Sugar)
This probably comes as no surprise since I just did a whole review on these incredible shadow quads. I think they are amazing and everyone is talking about them. They are easily blendable and each quad contains shimmer and matte to complete an entire look. I named the Cream and Sugar palette her because that is the one I have used and reached for the most the past couple of months. They do have 8 palettes in all and are perfect for travel. Please see my full review here. I just love these little palettes and they are only $3! Get your’s here!
2. Kokie Retractable Lip Liner (Warm Nude)
I am always on the lookout for the perfect nude lip liner. Ya know my lips but better thing. This is that liner for me. It’s creamy, semi-matte, doesn’t move around and the perfect shade for me. Everything you want a lip liner to do. They do come in several shades so there is a color to suit everyone and they are a drugstore product so the price is great. I’m on my second one and I will keep repurchasing this awesome lip liner. Get your’s here!
1. Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand (Fair-Medium)
This contour wand is made of some type of sorcery. It is absolutely fool proof. I am not a contour master. Even though I am a makeup artist and find contouring to be a super important step on my clients. I don’t always do it myself. Mainly because who has time for that?? Well, this magical wand here takes a few minutes to create the perfect contours! It blends like a dream. It is a pricier product and I would not recommend a product at this price point unless I absolutely loved it. And, I do! I’m telling you that you will too. Get your’s here !
Now summer is here and a whole new season ahead of us! It was fun going through my stash during the quarantine and rediscovering products all over again.
